There are many positives in attending this popular Rally. The foremost being the natural setting. The Trap Pond area is the remains of a giant wetland/ marsh that existed in Sussex county, spilling over into Maryland. The Pond area is the Northern range of the stately bald cypress tree. Most of the cypress was cut over in the eighteenth century: still the second growth trees there today are massive. Trap Mills were located here and the pond was created by a dam that provided power. It’s a very scenic area, especially in Autumn.
Memories of 2019 Trap Pond Rally. Chilly but fun! The fire was a popular gathering place.
